About the Girls + Sports Project
The Girls + Sports Project shows the difference in school sports opportunities offered by the Toronto District School Board (“TDSB”) to girls and boys. This Project tries to identify where girls are given less opportunities to play and compete in sports in TDSB schools. We hope that this Project provides more opportunities for girls to play sports in the TDSB and promotes gender equality.
The Girls + Sports Project also provides girls with the information they need to challenge their schools and school boards when they do not have equal opportunities in sports. Visit the My Rights page to learn more.

The Girls + Sports Project divides sports by girls, boys, or all genders based on the wording provided by the TDSB. This Project recognizes gender diversity and that not everyone identifies with one of these categories. The Girls + Sports Project includes all young people who identify as girls in the ‘girls’ category. The TDSB has stated that gender diverse individuals have accommodations enabling them to participate in gender divided school sports. Please see the TDSB website for more information.
