Girls + Sports
The Girls + Sports Project shows the differences in school sports opportunities offered to girls and boys in the Toronto District School Board (“TDSB”). This Project presents TDSB data on the number of girls, boys, and all gendered school sports teams from 2021 to 2023. This data is displayed in charts that can be filtered by school, conference, sport, gender, games, season, and year. See for yourself! Click on one of the charts below to interact with the data.

The Girls + Sports Project divides sports by girls, boys, or all genders based on the wording provided by the TDSB. This Project recognizes gender diversity and that not everyone identifies with one of these categories. The Girls + Sports Project includes all young people who identify as girls in the ‘girls’ category. The TDSB has stated that gender diverse individuals have accommodations enabling them to participate in gender divided school sports. Please see the TDSB website for more information.
